Beer & tapas pairing with Lakefront Brewery

We now have an 18-top table at La Merenda, and we figured a fantastic way to use it would be to have a monthly "mini beer dinner" for 18 people on the 18th of the month. So, please join us on the 18th of each month for an evening of tapas dishes prepared or paired with Milwaukee’s own Lakefront Brewery beer, presented by La Merenda and Lakefront Brewery. Please call us now to reserve anywhere from 1 to 18 spots for this fun event!

 

Wine School

Third Thursday of every month

It's back to school time at La Merenda - Wine School, that is! Learn great food & wine pairings from Sommelier Nate Norfolk and La Merenda on the third Thursday of each month. On October 16, we'll be featuring "Classic Pairings" of food and wine. For the November 20th event, we'll be featuring the festive release of Beaujolais wines in France. Call us today to reserve spots for these "classes"!

Happy Hour

Please join us for happy hour on Mondays thru Fridays from 4:30pm to 6pm - we're serving Wisconsin microbrews for $2.75, as well as $1 off Rehorst vodka and gin cocktails. (As always, we also have Pabst 16oz. silos for $2.50 and Miller High Life for just $2!)

October 6, 2008 | Local Food Dinner

La Merenda, along with Chef David Swanson and Chef Andy Schneider, kicked off October with the first annual Local Food Dinner. The event featured 5 rounds of tapas made with 99% local ingredients and wines made right here in Wisconsin. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the event!

August 4, 2008 | Artisanal Cheese & Wine Dinner event photos

It was an exciting night, joining Slow Food Wisconsin in hosting a Wisconsin Artisanal Cheese Dinner. Five courses of food were prepared by chef Peter Sandroni of La Merenda, chef Dave Swanson from Braise on the Go (and formerly Sanford) and Jan Kelly from Meritage, and each course was paired with wine highlighting great cheese from around the state. Dinner included a donation to Slow Food WISE, to benefit farmers affected by the floods earlier this summer.

April 17, 2008 | South American Wine Dinner

South American wines paired with tantalizing tapas. This fun event featured food and wines from all over South America, including Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Peru and Brazil.

As a supporter of the slow food movement, La Merenda participated in the Urban Agriculture Conference, cooking two featured dishes.

La Merenda opened its doors on Valentine's Day 2007, and we had an anniversary fiesta with some new food specials, some of your old favorites making a comeback, great drink specials, and other surprises.
